Chris Sollars and Jerome Waag create Democratic Meals that THE PEOPLE (Audience members) prepare, cook, and eat their elected recipe. OPENrestaurant is the project of a collective of restaurant professionals and artists that was started by Stacie Pierce, Jerome Waag and Sam White (all of Chez Panisse) and now includes Amanda Eicher, Sasha Wizansky, Chris Sollars, Valerie Imus, Chris Kronner, Howie Correa, Kelly Ishikawa and many others as regular collaborators.

OPENwater: Plight of the Salmon & The Damming of the San Francisco Bay

Live archival footage mixing of the shifts on and to San Francisco Bay accompanying a Chinook salmon dinner without any salmon. The first course will map a small part of the California water system. The central ingredient is sardines caught off the coast of central California, & anchovies, another salmon food, caught by Marc Alley, a local fisherman who has not fished for salmon for the last 4 years.
